James Callaghan, Founder of Minds in Schools

With a rich background in mental health and education spanning over a decade, James brings a wealth of expertise and passion to our psychotherapy training programs.

As a mental health nurse and lecturer, James has dedicated himself to the well-being of young individuals, particularly within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). With ten years of experience in CAMHS, James served as both a nurse and a clinical nurse specialist, gaining invaluable insights into the complexities of youth mental health.

James is also an accredited Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) therapist, trainer, and supervisor. He undertook additional training at the university of Oxford to specialise in CBT for Children and adolescents.

James is an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Consultant. He has a special interest in psychological trauma and its effect on young people performance in schools.

In recognition of his contributions to the field, James holds is a Fellow with the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI). Additionally, his expertise is sought after in academic circles, where he serves as a guest lecturer, sharing his knowledge and insights with future generations of mental health professionals.
